RETHINKING MOBILITY
We are used to our everyday lives becoming increasingly interconnected - from communication between end devices in the 'Internet of Things ' to software solutions such as apps or payment systems.
However, these services usually operate on their own, require their own user profiles, and need to be controlled by us. This is cumbersome and time-consuming.

banbutsu connects its own product range with customers beyond the store counter, thus combining the best of online and brick and mortar retail. This is made possible by our courier interface, which activates local delivery services and easily integrates them into existing order processes on any retailer’s checkout systems.

The banbutsu service is currently available in seven major German cities. The application connects stores with local courier services, making the delivery process faster, more efficient, and more sustainable. Customers can select local same-day delivery as a shipping option.

WE MAKE COMPLEX DECISIONS
Decipher complex processes and take data-driven decisions with banbutsu. Laundry expert D[AI]TA GmbH uses banbutsu components to generate ecologically sustainable and powerful results from data gathered by sensors in washing machines and networked clothing.
TRADITIONAL DETERGENT DOSAGE LEADS TO EXCESSIVE USE
Dosage instructions on detergent packaging are well-intentioned, but they are too generalized for often very different washing situations. To make sure laundry really gets clean, people tend to use 33% more than necessary. With about 140 loads of laundry per year in a 2-person household, that's a huge environmental and economic waste, not to mention that overdosing actually leads to worse results.
ANALYSIS OF EACH WASHING SCENARIO
D[AI]TA uses banbutsu components to determine the perfect wash cycle and detergent quantity based on the technical capabilities of a washing machine in combination with the laundry in it and the detergent used. The result calculated by banbutsu is the optimal result with minimized energy consumption and maximum cleaning performance.


SMALL ADJUSTMENTS WITH A BIG IMPACT
The collaboration between banbutsu and D[AI]TA is an example of how data can be used wisely to achieve results that were not possible before.
D[AI]TA GmbH evaluates information from both the washing machine and the garments inside. These are then understood by banbutsu and combined with relevant parameters in order to match them with corresponding product offers on the marketplace as well.
The stored data forms the basis for evaluating each washing process individually and making tailored suggestions to the customer in real time, for example via the washing machine display or an app. User behavior and product information not only offer additional value in the everyday life, but also serve as valuable information for the industry to further develop or improve products. The D[AI]TA software also learns about user behavior.
For example, if a pair of black jeans is washed particularly often, industry standards and expert knowledge can be used to determine when that pair will potentially fade in order to proactively link new purchase suggestions.
The cooperation with D[AI]TA is part of our approach to better understand the needs of customers, to bring together the products of our marketplace and their supply chains, and to link them to a customer need at the right moment - to the benefit of consumers and retailers.

BETTER DATA ENABLES BETTER PERSONALIZATION
Digital products are not necessarily smart, and smart products are not necessarily digital. Embedding analog products in a digital context helps to better understand a person’s situation and environment to create new relationships as well as combination and automation opportunities. The result: more precise personalization of offers and, as a result, greater relevance for end customers.


INCORPORATING SIMPLE DEVICES FOR MORE PRECISE RECOMMENDATIONS
Incorporating non-smart devices into information systems allows for an almost infinite number of new chains of command.
Using the example of an air quality sensor developed by banbutsu, we are able to both measure current air quality and relate this information directly to other networked products and services on the banbutsu platform. The recommendation to ventilate in order to increase the oxygen content of the air can be extended by information on the room temperature in interaction with smart home systems. The recommendation then includes a time period to prevent the room from cooling down and thus unnecessary heating.
Here, an analog device is integrated into a digital ecosystem via a sensor. Even simple digital devices, such as a printer, can become part of the hub with the help of our solution and thus, for example, automatically ensure replenishment when the ink level is low or establish contact with the service department in the event of a corresponding error code.
